Shoot for the Salted Caramel Stars

Sometimes you just need a good chocolate brownie! Whether you are in the camp of fudgy brownie lovers or cakey brownie lovers, these salted caramel brownies are sure to please!

Salted Caramel

½ Cup sugar

2 Tablespoons butter

1 Teaspoon kosher salt

Splash of milk

To make the caramel, pour the sugar and salt into a pan and heat over medium-low heat until the sugar is melted and brown. The sugar will start to clump before it melts, so don’t freak out when this happens. Stir the sugar every so often to make sure it doesn't burn.

Once fully melted and brown, remove from heat and stir in butter. Once the butter is fully incorporated, stir in the milk and place in the fridge while you make the brownie batter.


4 Oz Unsweetened baking chocolate

¾ Cup butter

1 Cup sugar

3 Eggs

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

¾ Cup flour

1 Cup chopped nuts (if desired)

In a large pot, melt the butter and chocolate together. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar until well incorporated. Whisk in the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla.

Mix in the flour and chopped nuts if desired.

Pour the batter into a well greased 9x13 pan. Using a spoon, drizzle the cooled caramel over the top of the brownies and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
